An award of tutoring hours only helps if the hours get used. These free tools turn the numbers in your hearing order or settlement into a plan you can take to a provider.

What the calculators do

Before you start

Have your order, settlement or authorization in front of you. You need the number of hours, any deadline for using them, and any rules about who can provide the sessions. Everything you type stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Not sure what your paperwork means? Read how to read your order or ask for a free callback.

MAKE A PLAN

Work out the hours and the costs

Use your own numbers to compare tutoring costs and plan awarded hours. Nothing you enter in these tools is sent anywhere.

What are your awarded hours worth?Their value, your cost, and how long they take to use

Enter the tutoring hours in your award and a typical private tutoring rate to see what those hours would cost if you paid for them yourself.

Use the number of tutoring hours written in your hearing order or settlement. Hours per week is how much your child would realistically do.

Enter a rate and your awarded hours to see what they are worth.

This is a conditional estimate, not a promise of an award or payment. It shows the value of tutoring services, not cash paid to your family or reimbursement. Confirm the award terms and payment arrangements with your provider.

Your numbers stay in your browser and are not added to the callback form.

Awarded-hours plannerHow can you fit your hours into the time left?

Use the hours remaining and the time left in your award to work out a weekly schedule to discuss with a provider.

Enter your remaining hours and weeks to see a weekly plan.

Hours remaining ÷ weeks left = hours per week.

This is a planning aid. Check the actual deadline, service requirements, and permitted session length in your award. Confirm a workable schedule with your provider; this tool does not reserve sessions or extend a deadline.

Map your child’s learning goalsA starting point, a goal, and checkpoints to discuss with a tutor.

Choose one skill to work on. Describe what your child can do now and what you would like them to practice next.

Keep descriptions general. Do not include your child’s name, school, IEP, or medical details. Entries stay on this page, are not saved after reloading, and are not added to the callback form.

Questions families ask

Is the value shown money I will receive?

No. It is the value of the tutoring services. Awards are generally for services, and payment usually goes to the provider, not to the family.

What if the hours take longer than my deadline allows?

Increase the hours per week in the planner to see what it would take, and talk to your provider or the person who handled your case about the deadline as soon as you can.
