An award only helps if you can use it. Find these terms first.
- Service and hours: what kind of instruction or therapy, and how many hours.
- Provider requirements: any license or certification the provider must hold.
- Rate: whether a rate is set, or "a provider of the parent's choosing" at a reasonable rate.
- How payment works: whether the DOE pays the provider directly and what paperwork it needs.
- Deadline: the date by which the hours must be used.
If a term is unclear, ask the person who handled the case before you start booking sessions.
