Using your hours

Hours that aren't used before the deadline can be lost. Plan backward from the date.

Do the math

Divide the hours by the weeks left. 120 hours over 40 weeks is 3 hours a week, which is often more than a child can manage on top of school, so start early.

Find the right provider

Look for someone who meets the requirements of your order, can work the schedule your child needs, and handles the billing paperwork.

Keep a log

Note each session's date and length. If a dispute comes up later, your own record helps.

Tell us about your award and we'll refer you to a provider.

MAKE A PLAN

Work out the hours and the costs

Use your own numbers to compare tutoring costs and plan awarded hours. Nothing you enter in these tools is sent anywhere.

Tutoring cost comparisonWhat could covered tutoring save you?

Compare what you would pay at your current tutoring rate with the cost of hours paid for under your award.

Enter 0 if you do not have covered hours. Include only hours your award permits that can replace tutoring you would otherwise pay for.

This is a conditional estimate, not a promise of an award or payment. It estimates avoided tutoring costs, not cash paid to your family or reimbursement. Confirm the award terms and payment arrangements with your provider.

The comparison caps covered hours at the hours in this plan. Your numbers stay in your browser and are not added to the callback form.
