After a tutoring intake, you should know what happens next. Bring questions about lessons, scheduling, communication, and paperwork so you can compare answers later.

Ask who will teach and how sessions will start

Find out whether the intake person is also the tutor. Ask how the assigned tutor will learn about the child's starting skills and how initial lesson goals will be chosen. Ask what happens in a typical session and what you'll hear about afterward.

Clarify the family's role

Ask whether a parent needs to remain nearby, what materials are needed, and whether practice between sessions is expected. Describe practical constraints honestly. A schedule that depends on travel or preparation your family can't manage needs discussion before sessions begin.

Write down the next steps

Confirm the proposed start date, session length, location, contact person, and any outstanding authorizations. Ask how to report a concern and how often you'll review progress. If services are award-funded, confirm who handles payment paperwork and whether anything remains unapproved. Keep the answers with your award rather than relying on memory.

Do I need to send the full IEP through a website inquiry form?

No. Ask what's needed and agree on a private way to share records. Keep the IEP out of this site's callback form.
